How you can help
We can’t do it without your donations: please help us prevent suffering!
Our day-to-day work on the ground tackles the root causes of suffering – but it costs a great deal of money every day. What began as a labour of love has now become a huge responsibility: we currently care for around 400 stray cats at our feeding stations.
Behind this figure lies an enormous logistical and financial feat. Our primary aim is not simply to save lives, but to permanently prevent severe suffering before it even arises. Every neutering breaks the cycle of constant reproduction, hunger and disease. But this requires expensive visits to the vet. At the same time, sick cats and kittens need medication and costly specialised food.
Why we need your donation
We fund all of this almost exclusively through donations. The sad truth is: without your financial support, we cannot continue this vital work. If donations dry up, our hands are tied. We will then no longer be able to trap unneutered animals, we will be unable to stop the misery of the next generation, and the bowls at the feeding stations will remain empty.
Every euro you donate goes directly towards prevention and the care of cats on Thassos. Administrative tasks are carried out entirely on a voluntary basis at the expense of those who do them.
With your donation
- We carry out neutering operations, thereby preventing the birth of hundreds of unwanted kittens who would otherwise die a miserable death on the streets.
- We fund essential medication and special food for our sick cats.
- We buy food and ensure the basic care of around 400 cats, preventing them from slowly starving to death during the harsh winter.
For example:
- €50 pays for a sterilisation
- €40 pays for milk formula for a kitten
- €30 pays for solid food for one kitten for a month
- €25 pays for Anitbiotics pneumonia, that is widespread on Thassos
- €15 pays for Flea, Work & Tick Treatment per cat for 3 months
- €10 pays for Eye Drops to treat very common infections that cause eye loss and blindness
Please do not look away. Every donation – whether small or large – is a building block in putting an end to the suffering of cats for the long term.

Help without spending money: Share our message with others!
Not everyone can make a financial donation – but everyone can help us make our voice heard. In today’s digital world, social media is one of our most important tools for raising awareness of the plight of stray cats.
Why your reach is vital to our survival:
The algorithms used by Instagram, Facebook and other platforms work like a spotlight: the more people engage with our posts, the brighter that spotlight becomes. Every share, every ‘like’ and every comment ensures that our posts are shown to people who don’t even know us yet
A simple click from you sets off a chain reaction:
- Greater awareness: People learn for the first time about the plight of unneutered cats in the local area and understand why neutering is so important.
- Increased donations: Among the new viewers are often animal lovers who can support us financially, cover veterinary costs or donate food.
- New volunteers: This helps us reach potential flight sponsors or people who would like to give a cat a new lease of life.
It’s that easy to support us for free:
It only takes a few seconds, costs you nothing, but makes a huge difference on the ground:
• Like our posts regularly.
• Leave a comment with a few kind words or emojis (this really boosts the post).
Share our posts in your own Story.
Help us raise awareness – because the more people we reach, the more suffering we can prevent together!
Give a cat from Thassos a better future: adopt one or more of our cats
Although we are not an animal shelter, cats that are very fond of people often find their way to us. These are usually settled in one of our feeding gardens. But how much better it would be if these cats could find a loving home!
If you’d like to adopt one of our cats, please get in touch. We’re happy to help with the preparations for their journey and with transporting the animals (by air or road)!
Help us with our feeding stations!
Do you live permanently on Thassos, have a car and would like to get actively involved? We’re always looking for reliable volunteers who can look after feeding stations independently! Please get in touch so we can discuss how you might be able to help.
