Trap – Neuter – Return

ThassosCats is a greek non-profit organisation. We are a small group of people who love Thassos and work hard to make it a better place for the stray cats living there. Our focus is sterilization to prevent further suffering.

What we are doing

Trap - Neuter - Return

Feeding stations for cats

Veterinary care for sick cats

ThassosCats was founded to spay and neuter the stray cats on the island. Our goal is to prevent so many cats from being born into an endless tunnel of pain, suffering, and hunger.

But, of course, we also want to look after the needs of the cats living on the island. That is why we keep our feeding stations running throughout the summer, as not every cat is brave enough to approach humans. Our shy and feral cats rely on these safe, consistent feeding spots to survive. At the end of the tourist season, when restaurants and hotels close, the bolder cats—which had previously found food there—return to our feeding stations. These feeding points ensure their survival through the winter.

But when you spend your days feeding and trapping, you inevitably come across so many sick and injured cats and abandoned kittens.  Of course, we also take care of these individuals and ensure they receive medical attention.

Please note, that we are not an animal shelter and do not operate a rescue center!

We need your help!

Together for stray cats: We can’t do it alone!

Every day, countless homeless cats fight to survive. They suffer from hunger, preventable diseases, and the harsh realities of life on the streets. We are their lifeline—but we cannot carry out this work on our own.

Providing regular feedings, professional veterinary care, and essential spay/neuter programs comes at a high cost. The fact that we are able to do what we do is thanks entirely to people like you.
